Job Title: Student Assistant Date Available: Spring 2020
Department: Academic Administration Report To: Executive Assistant
  • Receive, assist/direct office visitors.
  • Answer and direct phone calls.
  • Collect and sort mail.
  • Make copies as needed.
  • Send faxes as needed.
  • Collect, track, and archive all course syllabi.
  • Send out mass emails to various faculty groups.
  • Organize office (closets, workspaces, working folders, archives).
  • Print/collate/bind packet materials for faculty distribution/meetings.
  • Proofread documents as needed.
  • Design graphics as needed.
  • Place orders for office supplies.
  • Update and maintain faculty files consisting of resumes/CV’s, FPS’s, transcripts, bios, and other materials
  • Assist with any ad hoc projects from the Provost or Executive Assistant when needed.
  • Maintains faculty and student confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Must be enrolled currently as a WAU Student.
  • Superior command of English grammar and spelling as well as verbal and written communication.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional Microsoft Office skills, (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to deal with a variety of office situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Possess capacity for planning, organizing and controlling of job.
  • Possess strong quantitative analysis skills.
Language Skills:
  • Superior command of English grammar and spelling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Exceptional presentation and public speech ability.
Mathematical and Technology Skills:
  • Must demonstrate exceptional Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to deal with a variety of office situations.
Other skills and Abilities:
  • Must exhibit leadership skills.
  • Possess capacity for planning, organizing, and controlling of job.
