  • Answer and forward incoming calls

  • Coordinate and present job orientation/training for new Desk Workers

  • Ensure and monitor desk area and lobby are clean daily

  • General clerical duties.

  • Insure Desk Workers are aware of job responsibilities

  • Insure Desk Workers are informed of current residence hall notices, announcements, and revised policies/procedures

  • Maintain current contact list for all Desk Workers

  • Monitor front desk forms and supplies (sign-in/sign out sheets, log sheets, pens, etc.)

  • Notify Dean on Duty of any student personnel issues

  • Serve as Sub-Desk Worker as needed

Supervisory Duties

  • Coordinate and post Desk Workers schedule for each semester and during break periods

  • Monitor all Desk Worker job performance and report for evaluation at mid-term each semester to residence hall Dean

  • Update monthly/semester worker schedules as needed


  • Ability to multi task

  • Committed to provide exceptional customer service to customers and coworkers

  • Demonstrate high level of student professionalism

  • Demonstrated capability of updating worker calendars and schedules

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent WAU citizenship record

  • Exhibit precise attention to detail

  • In-depth knowledge of the campus directory and campus map

  • Knowledge of WAU policies and procedures

  • Possess effective team leadership skills

  • Possess high level of organizational skills;

  • Well versed in managing multiple line phone system and handling multiple incoming calls
