WGTS 91.9 is a listener-supported Federal Communication Commission licensed non-commercial radio station that is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; it is a self-supporting media ministry under common control of the Washington Adventist University Board of Trustees.
 
 
 
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chaplain, the office assistant is responsible for ensuring that the office functions efficiently and smoothly. The office assistant provides clerical, secretarial and administrative support to other employees working in the office. Also serves WGTS listeners directly in various ways in person, online and by phone.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
●   Prays comfortably with listeners and staff
●   Schedule meetings for the Chaplain
●   Handle all correspondence via mail or digital
●   Process purchase requests, invoices, receipts for department
●   Work with contractors schedules and tasks
●    Able to work 1-2 weekend or weeknight events, as needed
●    Coordinate outreach events
●    Lead staff prayer time when Chaplain is unavailable
●    Organize volunteers for spiritual care events (Elevate, Hands, and Heart, etc.)
●    Write and schedule e-blasts
●    Oversee social media strategy
●    Update Spiritual Care website
●    Attend meetings with Chaplain as needed
●    Keep databases updated
●    Research topics, venues as needed
●    Coordinate scheduling and transportation for events with volunteers
●    Respond to prayer requests through email, phone, web
●   Keep all information confidential
●   Other duties as assigned
 
 
 QUALIFICATIONS
 
●    Must be a WAU student.
 

Language Skills:
●    Superior command of English grammar and spelling.
●    Advanced verbal and written communication abilities.
●    Exceptional communication skills.


Technology Skills:
●    Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office, and Google Docs.


Other Skills and Abilities:
●    Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
●    Must be able to remain calm and in control during stressful situations.
●    An impeccable attention to detail and reliability.
●    The employee must be able to work in an environment that is usually moderate to moderately loud when all phones are ringing.
