The Admissions Data Processing Specialist furthers Washington Adventist University’s mission and vision by supporting the implementation, operations, and maintenance efforts required to maximize Customer Relationship Management (CRM ) software usage for Admissions processing including data entry, communications workflow, and recruitment resolution. This position shall serve as the functional lead for the CRM. This includes support for infrastructure issues, audits of the CRM application environment, to ensure standards are being met, and provide data from logs and reports as required by the Director of Admissions.
  • Provide implementation and operational support to enterprise end-users.
  • Help to define and implement the CRM security requirements to ensure the appropriate level of access for end-users.
  • Integrates the CRM applications with other enterprise applications, as required.
  • Comprehension of front and back end system usage.
  • Provide technical guidance in data gathering.
  • Perform changes to database fields, screens, and user administration.
  • Reviews requirements, specifications, test, support and training plans to ensure they are in line with business objectives on projects, specifically in accordance to the overall CRM Program and are technically sound.
  • Maintains and updates the CRM application and other items required to expedite admission decisions.
  • Updates and implements changes to the work flow as needed.
  • Serves as the main point of contact with the university’s IT team on issues concerning the CRM. 
  • Participates, as needed, with on-campus special events by working with the Enrollment/Admissions team.
  • Welcomes guests and students by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; and answers or directs inquiries.
  • Represents the Enrollment Management Office by and serving on WAU committees as assigned.
  • Supports a spirit of excellence in service.
  • Attends mandatory Convocation every Wednesday.
  • Attends Mandatory General Assembly once a month.
The employee will supervise (4-6) student workers in the area of data entry and processing.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from a four- year college or university
  • Minimum of 3-5 years  of experience as both a CRM user and CRM IT support person and/or functional lead, required
  • Familiar with Exact Target usage or other similar email marketing system, preferred
  • An understanding of Federal business issues and data challenges, preferred.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical and Technology Skills:
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • An understanding of application systems, database development and design.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Proficient.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
