Position Summary:
 
Washington Adventist University is seeking candidates for adjunct faculty in the Department of (Psychology & Counseling). Applications will be reviewed periodically based on student enrollment needs. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not automatically accepted to teach at Washington Adventist University.  Decisions to hire applicants are made at the discretion of the department. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Lecturing
  • Leading Class Discussions
  • Student Evaluations through the use of exams, student projects, reading assignments
  • Classroom Management
  • Timely Reporting of Final Grades
  • Class Attendance
  • Syllabus Construction
  • Timely Communication with Students and SGPS Staff
  • Use WAU email communication system
  • D2L and WebAdvisor for Grade Reporting
  • Integration of Professional Knowledge & Teaching Ability  
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree
  • Career Counseling Knowledge and Practice
  • Content Expertise
  • Knowledge of NCE Counseling Standards
  • Teaching Experience
  • Passion for Teaching
  • Integration of Faith & Learning
  • Rapport with Students
  • Adheres to SGPS Policy and Departmental Standards
