POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of Education is seeking energetic and creative educators to inspire students in the latest teaching methods to prepare them to be caring educators who are committed to Christian service through the art of reflective teaching.  The ideal candidates will promote active learning modes, experiential learning, and student engagement.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teach courses within the prescribed curriculum
• Conducts learning outcomes assessments for each course taught
• Compiles, administers, and grades e examinations
• May direct research of other teachers or graduate students working for advanced academic degrees
• Advises students at the undergraduate level
• Serves on committees as assigned
• Supports a spirit of excellence in service
• Attends mandatory Convocation every Wednesday

QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in Education, with a focus on special education for the inclusive classroom/early childhood education/elementary education methods
• Doctoral studies in Education desired.  PhD or EdD preferred.
• Must have at least three years of K-12 teaching experience
• A minimum of three years of college or university teaching experience preferred
• Knowledge of and commitment to Seventh-day Adventist Christian education
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with and teach a diverse population of students
• Maryland State certified or eligible for MD certification
• Excellent written, oral, and teaching skills
