SUMMARY: The Head Women’s Flag Football Coach is responsible for coaching the Women’s Flag Football program. This role requires a regular on-campus presence and close collaboration with the Athletic Director, coaching staff, student-athletes, and University partners to support competitive excellence and institutional visibility.
This is a stipend position with variable hours based on athletic seasons, competition schedules, and University needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Focus: Leadership, coaching, recruitment, and development of the Women’s Flag Football program.
LOCATION: Takoma Park, MD—On-site/In-office. NOTE: This position is not eligible for any type of regular remote or teleworking arrangement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HEAD WOMEN’S FLAG FOOTBALL COACH
Primary Focus: Leadership, coaching, recruitment, and development of the Women’s Flag Football program.
- Develop, lead, and sustain the Women’s Flag Football program aligned with NAIA standards and WAU values.
- Recruit, coach, mentor, and supervise student-athletes and assistant coaches.
- Plan and conduct practices, competitions, team meetings, and film sessions within a structured seasonal calendar.
- Support student-athlete academic progress and collaborate with campus partners to promote retention and success.
- Ensure compliance with NAIA, conference, and University athletic policies related to recruiting and competition.
- Manage the program budget within assigned funding levels.
- Coordinate team travel, scheduling, and logistics in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
- Complete required NAIA coaching education and certification requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with Athletic Training staff regarding student-athlete health and well-being.
- Represent WAU Athletics at meetings, events, and conferences as directed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in collegiate athletics, coaching, sports information, or a related field.
- Experience with athletics communications, media relations, and digital platforms preferred.
- Coaching experience in flag football or a related sport strongly preferred.
- This position requires regular on-campus presence during core business hours, with flexibility to adjust schedules around practices, competitions, and travel.
- Evening, weekend, and travel commitments occur primarily during the competitive season and are balanced through schedule adjustments during non-competition periods.
- The work environment includes office and athletic facilities with a moderate noise level.
