Lead in scouting, recruiting, and retention of student-athletes.
Lead with the development of team strategy and analyze the performance of student-athletes
Help operate a successful program within NAIA and Continental Athletic Conference rules and regulations.

SUMMARY
The Department of Business and Communications is seeking qualified faculty for the 2026-2027 academic year to teach courses in digital and social media marketing, integrated marketing communications campaign, marketing research and analytics for a new concentration in integrated marketing, media and communications. The instructional faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction in the areas of digital and social media marketing, integrated marketing communications campaign, marketing research analytics, public relations writing and media strategy and related activities. She/he will be responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend in any of the schools within Washington Adventist University as assigned. The faculty performs all other duties as directed by the Department Chair, Provost or the President or designee.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

Coordinates, plans, organizes, and instructs courses in the day, evening, or on weekends in any school within Washington Adventist University and in a manner which advances the institution’s mission and vision.
Keeps active at a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulates enthusiasm for those subjects with intentionality specific to the integration of Christian faith and learning.
Ensures that each program/class contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, incorporates the use of AI and promotes experiential learning.
Chooses textbooks and other instructional materials including classroom and laboratory equipment, in collaboration with Chairs and Deans, as appropriate.
Assists in the University’s library collection development by selecting, evaluating, and weeding library resources in each appropriate discipline.
Teaches all classes according to an approved course syllabus.
Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.
Keeps students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.
Provides students with a mid-term progress report per policy.
Maintains accurate and complete scholastic records.
Submits Failure to Report, Early Warning, Notification of Unofficial Withdrawal, and other documentation when appropriate to the Betty Howard Center for Student Success.
Files an appropriate course syllabus for each course taught with the appropriate department chair and the Dean’s office.
Includes learning outcomes assessments into each course syllabus.
Conducts learning outcomes assessments for each course delivered and completes other assessments/evaluations in accordance with University policy.
Ensures that assigned classes are held as scheduled for the complete scheduled time.
Holds the final exam at the time scheduled in the University’s schedule, unless permission to deviate has been approved by the Provost or designee.
Makes suggestions to the Department Chair or the Dean concerning the improvement of the curriculum in keeping with the objectives of the University.
Participates in program and curriculum review and development and student learning outcomes initiatives.
Uses available college online resources (University website, Desire2Learn, WebAdvisor, etc.). Plans each unit or lesson, both as to content and method, to make each class minute meaningful and effective.
Maximizes the learning opportunities for each student.
Keeps informed of current trends and new approaches to instruction via professional development activities.
Submits annual program budgets to the Department Chair and works closely with the Department Chair on the development of annual budgets, as needed, for approval by the Dean and Provost.
Assists with department pre-registration, registration and advising as essential to meet and exceed program enrollment goals.
Maintains record of course retention rates and implements strategies to meet retention goals.
Serves as an academic advisor to assigned students.
Posts and maintains office hours for students.
Fully participates in the faculty performance appraisal system, including analysis of student attrition and grade distributions.
Submits required reports to the appropriate entities.
Attends all faculty meetings, General Assemblies, Convocations, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Provost, Dean or Department Chair.

Responsible for the overall functioning of the Theofield G. Weis Library and the Curriculum Library, including recruitment, administration, and supervision of staff. Helps coordinate & supervise the yearly Phonathon, Alumni Connections, and Gateway Magazine.

Requests graduate’s information from IT/Datatel and inputs it into Raiser’s Edge software.

Organizes work by researching, and routing correspondence; proof reads and drafts letters and documents; acts as custodian for corporate documents and records; collects and analyzes information; and initiates telecommunications.

Maintains appointment schedules by maintaining calendar for Director of Institutional Development, Grants and Alumni Relations (IDGAR).
Arranges meetings, conferences, conventions, teleconferences, events, and travel, for the Director of IDGAR.

Maintains and supports Director of IDGAR by managing projects; evaluates situations and/or issues and makes recommendations as needed.

Manages Office of Advancement & Alumni Relations, in addition to supervises student professionals.

Maintains confidentially of all sensitive information related to Advancement, Development, Alumni Relations and all campus entities.

Prepares reports by collecting and analyzing information as requested by various campus academic and supportive departments.

Completes and submits pre-authorizations, expense authorizations, check requests, and invoices for reimbursement and other items as assigned

Composes, proofreads, and edits documents, records, and other materials.

Processes timecards for student workers for Advancement & Alumni Relations.

Responsible for the agenda and minutes for all committees that the Director of IDGAR is the chair of.

Assists the Director of IDGAR in the planning and execution of University events, including but not limited to: Visionaries Gala, Alumni Weekend, WAU Sabbath, Groundbreakings, Grand Openings, receptions, President’s lunches, Top Donor Brunch, and other events as assigned by the President. Specifically, responsible for alumni weekend registration and coordination of registration volunteers.

The Office of Enrollment at Washington Adventist University is searching for dedicated and experienced professional to serve the Dual Enrollment/Transfer population. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Evaluate and articulate incoming transfer credits for first time students.

This position will diligently work with WAU Admission, Registrar, and ITS Departments to ensure proper and timely application processes are completed to ensure a seamless transition from Academy to University education.
This position works with academies/high school administrators, teachers and students to implement the program’s strategic plans and recruit students for the Dual Enrollment program.
This position will work within the local community to develop partnerships for the growth of the Dual Enrollment program, and be willing to travel extensively within the various regions of the state.
This position will be responsible for scheduling and organizing registration day, and visit schools on those dates to assist students with the application process, present dual enrollment information, maintain student records and market WAU for future application.
In addition, this position will collect Dual registration and agreement forms, and transcripts from counselors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree is required.

SUMMARY
This position will work as a member of the Enrollment Management Team to facilitate recruiting, enrollment, and retention of students at Washington Adventist University. Person must be an independent and organized worker who is self-disciplined and motivated and able to work with minimal supervision under strict deadlines. Person will have primary responsibility for managing Financial Aid compliance by implementing federally required coordination of institutional funds with federal funds; performs fund management functions for Title IV and state programs and select institutional funds. Directs administration of Student Financial Services by identifying, establishing, and executing short-term and long-range goals; develops and enforces policies and procedures.
Responsible for obtaining information, evaluating student need, maintaining high customer service standards, managing financial clearance processes, establishing aid to be awarded, and obtaining and authorizing federal and state funds for students.
Maintains financial aid process by monitoring staff effectiveness; interprets federal and state aid regulations; advises staff on policy, procedure and issues as needed.
Prepares federal and state reports as required; compiles required data/lists by collecting and analyzing information; submits information as requested.
Complies with federal and state aid requirements by studying existing and new programs, policies, and procedures enforcing adherence to requirements.
Provides information to students and parents by conducting financial aid seminars and workshops; counsels students on debt management and financial planning.
As the university’s Veteran’s Affairs Representative, administers veteran’s benefits and complies with all regulations associated with veteran’s affairs.
Manages financial aid awards for Adventist Colleges Abroad program.
Represents Student Financial Services by advising Executive Vice President for Financial Administration on financial aid matters; and serves on committees as assigned.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and conferences; reviews professional publications; establishes personal networks; participates in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Supports a spirit of excellence in service.
Attends mandatory Convocation every Wednesday.

Summary

Primary Duties:

Instruct and evaluate students in either a classroom, nursing laboratory, or clinical setting
Attend required clinical agency orientation, if applicable
Supervise and maintain laboratories and equipment if teaching in the nursing lab
Attend workshops on D2L, DocuCare, and ATI, if applicable to course being taught
Attend Department of Nursing adjunct orientation before the start of each semester.
Evaluate student learning in a clinical setting using a standard evaluation tool provided by the Department of Nursing.
Adhere to Department of Nursing policies and procedures as outlined in the nursing student and faculty handbooks.
Attend at least one professional workshop during the academic year that is provided by the Department of Nursing.
Participate in end of course program reports and evaluations

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in nursing is required; doctorate in nursing is preferred
Evidence of expertise appropriate to teaching specialty area

Minimum of two years clinical experience as a registered nurse
Clinical experience necessary to function effectively and safely in the area of assigned responsibility
Ability to communicate with and teach a diverse population of students
Ability to meet health credentials requirement if teaching in clinical settings
Possession of a valid and unencumbered RN license in the state of Maryland or nursing license compact state
Excellent written, oral, and teaching skills
Prior college or university teaching experience preferred
